Wealthy Web Writer Review

Make more money from writing — that’s the goal of many freelancers. The trouble is that we all need some help to do it. That’s where a site like AWAI’s Wealthy Web Writer (WWW) comes in and I was delighted to be asked to review it. Here’s my experience of the site.

Wealthy Web Writer — What to Avoid

Let me start by saying don’t do what I did and delve right in because there is a heck of a lot to keep track of on the site, so it’s actually worth watching the 10 minute tour video so you know what you’re looking at before you start browsing the wealth of excellent site content.

Being a bit click-happy, I just went for it and got enmeshed in the Platinum Member Dashboard. The reason I use that word is because it’s a bit overwhelming. From the dashboard you can get to recent articles by WWW members. Here are a few examples:

Other features of the dashboard are:

  • information in more than a dozen categories

  • upcoming events and seminars

  • a tag cloud to help you find areas of interest

  • web content writing jobs (more on those later)

What else is on the site? It’s more a case of what isn’t because it seems to have everything you need to get started. Cool features include career roadmaps helping guide writers into useful niches, sessions with expert writers to help you develop your skills, the chance to get answers to your questions about writing and an ongoing case study with a writer working her way to becoming a six figure copywriter. There’s also a huge knowledgebase and library of videos. And if there’s something you want to know about that isn’t there, just ask — that might lead to a new resource all writers can benefit from. It’s also worth browsing the on-site categories for multiple articles on your key areas of interest. When I did, I found a social media reporting tool that I had completely missed.

Roadmap to a Web Writing Career

There are multipart (12 step) roadmaps on becoming a web writer, getting successful and using WordPress — which are all worth a look. They cover getting started, building your business, working with clients, skill improvements, marketing and a range of copywriting niches. There’s a constantly updated list of high paying jobs in several niches (SEO, ecommerce, PPC marketing, social media, and web sales copy). Most of the jobs seem to be unique to the WWW site (though I could be wrong about that). And finally, there’s a forum where you can discuss issues of interest. And there’s one more advantage — you can contribute to the Wealthy Web Writer site and use it to showcase your writing skills.

My favorite resource, apart from the job listings, was the pricing guide — something every writer could do with.

How much does all this cost? Some of the content is available for free online, but much of the training, videos and job listings are only viewable by members. The rate is $47 per month, but at the time of writing it was available at $27 per month. Land one decent job and it pays for itself — not a bad deal.
