The Gift of Sight
Appreciating what we take for granted
Hello friends,
I'm still getting used to my new face. Of course, it's the same face I've always had, but now it comes, most of the day at least, without glasses.
I've worn glasses since I was eight years old, but I had cataract surgery in May, and it was life-changing.
I'd noticed that when I got my last pair of glasses the improvement in vision was underwhelming. The night vision was getting pretty bad, too. So, I went to my ophthalmologist of choice and had my eyes done - both of them on the same day.
It is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
The clarity of everyday objects is astounding. The ability to see miles ahead when driving is amazing.
Sure, I still need reading glasses, as many people my age do, but I am appreciating the gift of sight even more now.
So, today I am grateful to my business coach, whose guidance ensured that the cash I needed for the operation was in my bank account (if you work with her, please tell her I sent you). I’m grateful to the surgeon, for his skill. And I’m grateful for the family, friends and colleagues who supported me.
This experience made me think about the things we take for granted that we should take a moment to appreciate. Do you have anything like that in your world?
Thanks for being here,
Sharon
P.S. Now that I'm back, I've been busy. My self-publishing masterclass is available for streaming, and I've created some new packages to support introverted content creators - hit reply if you want details.
